Their website says:

Action for Elders is a registered charity that works to make older peoples’ lives better. We aim to end loneliness by offering local support with physical, mental and social programmes.

Our dedicated staff work throughout the UK helping older people remain mobile and giving them the opportunity to socialise.

We work to ensure that older people have the opportunity to stay fit, healthy and fulfilled, while reducing social and health care costs for local and national governments.

We want to change the way that people think and care about older people.

Strategic objectives

  • Improve the general health and well-being of older people
  • Enhance their feelings of well-being, ensuring respect and protection of dignity
  • Reduce social and health costs, so that funds can be used in other areas of health priority
  • Build a sustainable and focused organisation that will help to change the way our society thinks and cares about older people
